The Grand Tour introduced a new female driver to replace ‘the American’ Mike Skinner for season two, but some fans are irked they failed to mention her name.

The second season of Amazon’s The Grand Tour saw a number of minor changes to the format, with the NASCAR race driver getting ditched after being unpopular with fans.

In the second episode, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May introduced new driver, Abbie Eaton, who they found every auditioning ‘everyone we could think of’.

Clarkson stated the team had tested out ‘former F1 drivers, rally drivers, stunt drivers, test drivers’ until they found the fastest, before cutting to Eaton tearing up the track after a ‘And here she is…’

Weirdly however they failed to mention her name, with some fans feeling a bit bemused at the omission.

In comparison, Skinner’s introduction into the show last season saw him named and hyped with the outline of his NASCAR credentials.

Eaton is a 25-year-old professional racer from England – whose experience includes the SAXMAX Championship, GT Cup and British GT Championship.

Even with the omission however, fans are happy they’ve brought a female driver into the show, including Abbie herself.

Taking to Twitter, Abbie wrote: ‘Hope you’re all enjoying the new series of @TheGrandTour. I’m loving the new changes they’ve made…’

Elsewhere on the episode, Richard Hammond could be seen on crutches following his crash in Switzerland, which caused a bit of a hurdle for James May’s mission.

You can catch The Grand Tour season two on Amazon Prime Video.
