U.S. Marshals arrested a wanted fugitive Friday in Fort Collins in connection with an alleged assault on a woman earlier this month in Fort Morgan. 
According to a news release issued by the U.S. Marshal Service, Angel Ramos allegedly stabbed the women with a screwdriver on the 34000 block of County Road X on Nov. 4. She then jumped from her car to escape Ramos which resulted in the vehicle running over her leg. Ramos attempted to place the women in the trunk of her car but failed and fled, said the release.
The 36-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder in the first degree, assault in the second degree, menacing with a deadly weapon, second degree kidnapping, domestic violence and criminal impersonation. Ramos has also been linked to a homicide in El Salvador, according to the release.
Enforcement and Removal Operations and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement teamed up with Fort Collins Police Department to make the arrest around 1 p.m. on Friday. Ramos was apprehended and transported to the Larimer County Jail without incident.
Acting U.S. Marshal for the District of Colorado Andrew Smith said, “The United States Marshals Service is thankful for the partnership of ICE/ERO and Fort Collins Police Department in this arrest operation. A violent gang member and offender who committed a heinous crime has been brought to justice.”
