The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has issued a strong statement in response to the recent bombings in Yemen, which have resulted in at least 53 deaths, including two children, and numerous injuries in the Houthi-controlled capital, Sana’a, as well as in other provinces such as Saada and Hodeidah.
These attacks, carried out by the United States and the United Kingdom, are seen as a “grave violation of Yemen’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” exacerbating an already critical humanitarian crisis.
Venezuela’s official statement emphasizes that these acts of aggression “not only intensify the suffering of the Yemeni people but also fail to provide effective solutions to the challenges facing West Asia.” The Venezuelan government underscores that the current instability in the region has deep roots, linked to “nearly 80 years of occupation and genocide against the Palestinian people.” This prolonged violence has sparked a conflict whose repercussions are felt across the entire region.
Venezuela urgently calls for the “immediate cessation of airstrikes in Yemen” and urges the international community to take action to halt this new military escalation. According to the statement, peace in West Asia “can only be achieved through the restoration of the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the implementation of United Nations Security Council resolutions.”

Furthermore, Venezuela calls on “Arab and Muslim governments and peoples to unite in defense of human rights and the lives of those affected by this aggression.” The events in Yemen should not be viewed in isolation; they represent a continuation of a “systematic massacre against Arab peoples that began with Palestine.” The only way to stop this chain of aggression is through the “unity and active resistance of those defending their sovereignty and dignity.”
Finally, Venezuela reaffirms its commitment to the “sovereignty of all peoples” and to building peace based on the “absolute respect for the United Nations Charter.” The international community is urged not to remain indifferent to this escalation of violence and to work collectively toward justice and peace in the region.
Venezuela’s firm stance on the bombings in Yemen highlights the urgent need for coordinated global action to address the humanitarian and political crises in West Asia, emphasizing the crucial role of defending the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination in achieving lasting peace.
