President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a phone call today with Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait.

Presidential Spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy stated that the call addressed regional developments. Both leaders affirmed the shared visions of Egypt and Kuwait regarding the current situation in the region, and condemned and denounced Israel's resumption of hostilities in the Gaza Strip, which has so far resulted in hundreds of civilian casualties, including children and women.

President El-Sisi and the Emir of Kuwait warned of the continued Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip and the resulting humanitarian repercussions, the deterioration of the situation, the expansion of the regional conflict, and the undermining of prospects for peace and stability in the region.

The two leaders stressed the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities to push for an immediate ceasefire, the implementation of the two-state solution, and the establishment of a Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967, lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, as this is the only guarantee for achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.
