“The Trump administration said on Sunday that hundreds of people accused of being gang members had been sent to El Salvador, a day after a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to cease such deportations,” the New York Times reports.
“President Trump had signed an executive order invoking the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, an obscure wartime law, to deport Venezuelans with little to no due process. The judge on Saturday said any planes carrying immigrants that had departed the United States under Mr. Trump’s order must turn around.”
